The client had a stunning emerald pendant and wanted pair of emerald earrings to match.  She chose a huggie-style earring in order to show off the emeralds and give them a greater presence than a simple stud earring.

I suggested the princess cut shape for this style of earring to maximize the space within the channels of the earrings.  However, princess cut emeralds are difficult to find, especially in this larger size.  Luckily, a set of emeralds was found that not only perfectly matched each other, but also matched the original emerald in her pendant.  

The design process of the emerald earrings progressed from a hand-drawn pencil sketch to a computer-aided design (CAD), to the creation of the finished product.
